AWE Virtual Networking Happy Hour: Let’s Talk Mentoring!


It’s time to reconnect and check-in on each other! For this networking event we will be focusing on mentors and mentoring for women in the energy industry. AWE’s commitment is to reduce barriers and celebrate a diversity of women, their ideas, cultures and educational backgrounds to ensure we are lifting all women.

This event is an opportunity for you to be part of a discussion about mentoring, why it is important, and how we can create more opportunities for each other. We will have a large group and smaller group breakout discussions.

AWE invites you to join us for a tour of the Assembly Solar site in Shiawassee County, the largest solar power generation facility in Michigan. The tour will last approximately two hours; there is a lot to see and a lot to learn! The Ranger team is eager to show off the project and answer all of your questions. This is a unique opportunity, so we encourage you to join us on this outdoor, socially distanced tour.

Details: The tour will congregate outside of the construction trailer at the above address. There we will provide a brief safety debrief and overview of the facility before we head out into the array and substation.

PPE: AWE will provide face masks and Ranger will provide all hard hats, vests, glasses etc. 

Attire: No open toed shoes, with a strong preference for steel toed if available. Long sleeve shirts/pants are preferred.

AWE will provide bottled water but will not be providing meals or food to ensure adherence to COVID-19 protocols and keep our attendees safe.


We are complying and expect every attendee to comply with COVID guidelines and requirements. This of course includes mask wearing, social distancing, and hand sanitizing. Everyone will be required to wear a mask in accordance with the State of Michigan April 16, 2021 Gatherings and Mask mandate order (or its subsequent order). Additionally, each participant will be required to sign a duty of care agreement and waiver prior to participating. This agreement includes a requirement the attendee stay home if they feel ill or are experiencing active COVID 19 symptoms, among other personal accountability commitments.
