Jenny Lopez Riley serves as the National Marketing Director, Energy Solutions at APTIM. Jenny has twenty years of strategic marketing, consumer research, and brand building experience. She leads marketing and client engagement strategies for prominent utility clients such as Entergy, AEP, Southern California Edison and Wisconsin Focus on Energy. Other utility clients she has worked with are ComEd, Ameren Illinois, Peoples Gas, NorthShore Gas and Nicor Gas. Her experience covers a full breadth of energy solutions including demand side management, smart energy solutions, distributed energy resources, grid modernization, resiliency and water affordability. She is responsible for managing brand-building initiatives, including digital marketing, advertising, public relations, community building, market research, and consumer relations. Her areas of focus include ongoing innovation in market planning and execution to meet program goals, brand evolution and creative strategy, and well-being initiatives for vulnerable and low-income communities.
2020 – 2021: Leads marketing strategy for Focus on Energy Wisconsin, Entergy Louisiana and Entergy New Orleans.
2020: Developed the brand, communication and marketing strategy for $30M LeadCare Illinois program to ensure all children have access to clean drinking water.
2020: Created communications and outreach strategy for the City of Flint to address water affordability in the wake of water quality crisis, declining customers and revenue, and impacts of COVID-19.
Exceeded enrollment goals by 18-274% for ComEd’s Hourly Pricing, Ameren Illinois Peak Time Rewards, and Ameren Illinois Power Smart Pricing programs, which have helped 170,000 customers save over $40M, conserve 100M kWh in energy, and avoid 89,000 metric tons of carbon emissions.
Led marketing strategy and execution for ComEd, Nicor Gas, People’s Gas and Northshore Gas Income-Eligible Multifamily and Public Housing programs, ComEd’s Street Lightning, and ComEd’s Clean Energy Jobs Accelerator program.
2019: Created and launched brand and marketing strategy for Illinois Solar of All and ComEd’s Nonprofit Open Source.
2015: Created and launched brand and marketing strategy for Ameren Illinois Peak Time Rewards.
Jenny has a Master of Science, Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University, is certified in Digital Marketing and as a Project Management Professional. She is Committee Chair, Mentorship with the Chicago Chapter of Women’s Energy Network, Communications Chair with Advancing Women in Energy, Committee Member - Marketing for AESP, and member of Moguls in Marketing, a network of female marketing leaders worldwide. She was previously Associated Director, Marketing and Communications at Elevate Energy.
