Cherish Smith is an Associate Director in the Energy Practice at Navigant. She has
extensive experience in leading energy efficiency program evaluation, market research, design and strategic planning, in residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Cherish is adept at working with multiple stakeholders, including utilities, regulators, program implementers and evaluators, with a variety of perspectives to coordinate state-wide initiatives and market research. She works with utility clients to continuously improve their program offerings and address complex challenges with regulators in an evolving energy landscape, and better meet their needs with innovative and effective solutions.
Prior to Navigant, Cherish was an energy engineer and identified opportunities for building modifications for government and commercial clients to improve energy efficiency. Cherish audited and assessed the viability of potential energy conservation measures in over 3.4M square feet of local government, K12 and commercial facilities, and managed over $12M in active energy project guarantees, measurement and verification and consulting strategies.
Cherish is a Certified Energy Auditor and earned her M.Eng. in Environmental Engineering and B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, both from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.
