Cherish Smith is a Director at Guidehouse in the Energy, Sustainability and Infrastructure practice, and leads Mobility Solutions work with energy provider clients. Cherish works with utility clients to continuously improve their program offerings and better meet their needs with innovative and effective solutions. Cherish has over 12 years of experience in the energy industry with expertise in utility program evaluation and design, regulatory support, stakeholder engagement, market research and project management across mobility, energy efficiency, rates pilots, and renewable energy topic areas. Cherish has managed numerous program evaluations and several market research engagements, including market characterization and program design research, in-depth interview and survey design and implementation, onsite data collection and analysis across a variety of programs.

Prior to Guidehouse, Cherish was an energy engineer and identified opportunities for building modifications for government and commercial clients to improve energy efficiency. Cherish was selected in 2020 as Energy News Network’s 40 under 40 as an emerging leader in transitioning the U.S. to a clean energy economy and currently serves on the Ann Arbor Energy Commission. Cherish is a Certified Energy Auditor and earned her M.Eng. in Environmental Engineering and B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, both from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.
